This book shall serve to record names, titles, dates, words and other small vanities that someone decided to call their own. Each record receives an entry, a stamp and a certificate, with all the ceremony of a government office.

In categories where claims change hands, each post has one holder at a time. Another valid purchase can take the place at any moment, and the passage of whoever left stays noted in the history, with its date. Nobody receives money from it, not even whoever loses the post.

What is recorded here stays in this book, with its date. And, this being true, I so certify.
